SPF and CFS's 17th Annual Conference Focuses on 21st Century Strategies to Meet Investment Client Needs
Firms’ “Lead Forward!” theme represents embracing the future as technology and consumer behavior changes
SAN DIEGO – August 5, 2015 – Sister companies, Sorrento Pacific Financial, LLC (SPF) and CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS), recently hosted the CFS/SPF 17th Annual Conference in San Diego for executives, financial advisors and investment program managers at financial institutions across the country. The conference provided more than 600 attendees with the opportunity to learn about and implement new strategies, tools and products to meet their clients’ expectations and compete in today’s rapidly changing investment marketplace.
The conference theme, “Lead Forward!” embodied CFS and SPF’s dedication to finding the best ways to improve the financial lives of investment clients inside banks and credit unions. With four impressive keynote speakers, 60 educational breakout sessions, and more than 40 exhibitors, the conference showcased some of the best minds in the investment services industry. Offering a strong focus on new strategies to meet the needs of investment clients, session topics included longevity planning, healthcare and financial planning, wealth transfer, and social media and marketing, as well as trends in products and the changing technology landscape.
As consumer behavior changes, credit unions and banks must implement technology solutions that increase the efficiency of advisors and add convenience for customers. Remote delivery tools from CFS and SPF such as the SendMyDocs™ mobile app and BuildMyProfile™ online platform allow advisors and clients to interact through mobile and online channels for every stage of the investment client relationship: from prospecting, to developing an investor profile, building a financial plan, and monitoring the plan’s success. These remote delivery solutions support advisors and clients alike.
“‘Lead Forward!’ is our mantra to push the envelope for more convenient and effective ways of doing business in a changing world,” said Valorie Seyfert, CEO. “Our conference provides executives, who are leading financial institutions, and advisors, who are leading clients, with the tools they need to achieve success in their investment programs.”
An awards program is one of the highlights of the conference. One new advisor was inducted into the Hall of Fame, recognizing individuals and financial institutions that have consistently brought their passion for service to their investment programs. CFS and SPF recognized 107 top financial advisors with Pacesetter Awards, including 50 Gold, 28 Silver and 33 Bronze. Pacesetter awards identify those who have met top goals in production and provided outstanding service to clients.
Top investment programs were also recognized. Three credit unions received the 2015 Rookie of the Year Award for having the highest GDC (gross dealer concession) per $1 million of financial institution deposits. Nine programs received the 2014 Keystone Award for having the highest ratio of GDC per $1 million of total deposits. Finally, six banks and credit unions received the 2014 Pinnacle Award for achieving the highest overall annual production.
Keynote presenters included best-selling author and productivity expert Paul Carpenter, business author Joe Calloway, investment strategist Zachary Karabell, and international speaker and world-class guitarist Mike Rayburn. Attendees and their guests also enjoyed an opening reception at Embarcadero Park. Many attendees participated in a 5K fun run benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project. More than $6,100 dollars were raised in support of the charitable organization.
